Asking for help can be hard
But it’s important for our self-care
It can be scary when you don't feel like yourself, you're unsure why you feel this way, and you are struggling to cope. I strive to help others live a happy, healthy, successful life and cope when it can get difficult.
**UPDATE – 4/13/2022: I am excited to announce that I’m now offering both in-person and virtual/tele-health sessions.

One-on-One Conversation Based
Some individuals seek therapy for help with a specific issue or difficulty such as anxiety, depression, substance use, interpersonal difficulties, or work life balance. Others may want to improve themselves by changing their thinking patterns and behaviors by gaining more insight into their emotions, values, and relationships. If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a difficult situation or you’re ready to move in a new direction in your life, Individual Therapy can help. Individual therapy is a one-person meeting with a licensed mental health professional in a safe and trusting environment. This allows the individual to express feelings and beliefs, gain understanding about their emotions, learn specific methods to cope with stressful situations and strong emotions, identify unhelpful ways of thinking, and generally, move toward desired goals.

Mediating communication and understanding that will elicit healing
There are several reasons why people seek family therapy. These can include unforeseen events that create chaos in the home, loss of a close friend/family member, a family member has active addiction or mental health struggles, divorce or split family guidance, and more. Problems are systematic meaning the problem affects the whole family system. Family therapy includes couples for 2-1 therapy or a family as a whole, adding as many members as necessary to mediate communication and understanding that will elicit healing. The goal is to create a safe space to process, share each perspective and create a sense of understanding, improve communication, and achieve shared goals as a family unit.

Enhance well-being through creative expression
Creative therapy is done in a 1-on-1 setting with the client and licensed mental health professional. Through creative expression and exercises the client is able to outwardly express their emotions to improve and enhance the psychological and social well-being of individuals of all ages and health conditions. Creative therapy can be used to compliment traditional mental health treatment to help improve skills, behaviors, and thought processing. Creating art can help you acknowledge and recognize feelings that have been lurking in your subconscious.

The presence of a therapy animal makes an impact on mental health
Animal Assisted Therapy is a goal-directed process in which a trained mental health practitioner-animal team work together to help clients resolve mental health and behavioral challenges. This therapy often involves using experiential and expressive interventions that include the therapy animal. This therapy maintains that the presence of the therapy animal makes an impact on mental health. Kaitlyn has teamed up with her trained and licensed therapy dog, Stout, for the past 3 years to help clients achieve their goals.
